Whether you drive, fly, or walk to Waco, you’re guaranteed a fun visit in the heartland of Texas. Situated on the I-35 corridor between Dallas and Austin<\/a>, Waco’s the place to stop for scores of shops and restaurants galore. So, come on by and stay for a visit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waco offers numerous attractions<\/a>, five historic homes, seven recreational venues, and nine arts organizations staging theatrical and musical productions, as well as art exhibitions. The ‘Visitor Information<\/a>‘ section of the Waco Convention & Visitor’s Bureau’s website has some great information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our\u00a0Parks and Recreation<\/a>\u00a0section of the website will give you many outdoor options in our great city! If you’re coming to Waco, you have to visit\u00a0Cameron Park<\/a>, one of the biggest and best municipal parks in Texas. The\u00a0416-acre park<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0located in the heart of Waco<\/a>, next to downtown. It features scenic overlooks, wildlife and playgrounds, plus approximately 20 miles of nationally\u00a0recognized trails\u00a0that weave through the natural landscape. The park runs along towering limestone bluffs and overlooks the Brazos and Bosque rivers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Inside Cameron Park is the Cameron Park Zoo<\/a>. The zoo rests on 52 acres adjacent to the Brazos River in Waco, Texas.  Lush native vegetation surrounds splashing waterfalls, a picturesque lake and ponds.  And in the midst of all this beauty, visitors see that the wild ones not only survive in their natural habitat, they flourish. Cameron Park Zoo’s animal collection includes more than 1,731 animals, representing 300 species.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Waco is also home to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum<\/a> which is the official museum, hall of fame and repository of the Texas Rangers. For the golfers we have Cottonwood Creek Golf Course which has consistently been ranked as one of the top 10 public courses in Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
